The physicians and the staff at Retina Specialists of Tampa are dedicated to providing the highest standards of care in the treatment of eye diseases. Dr. Tarabishy, Dr. Dunn, and Dr. Schneider are committed to excellence in treating patients with age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and conditions requiring Vitreoretinal surgery. We specialize in the pain-free treatment of the most challenging retinal disease cases and continuously work to provide our patients with the greatest possible experience, and the best visual outcome. We create a tailored treatment plan specific to the patient’s condition and needs.

As retinal disease affects people of any age, the physicians at Retina Specialists of Tampa see and treat patients of all ages. For each, we create a treatment plan tailored to their specific needs. Patients are typically referred to us by their eye care specialist, primary care provider, ophthalmologist, or optometrist. Whether you require eye surgery or less invasive treatments, our goal is to provide you with highly specialized eye care in a personal and individualized manner, involving your primary care physician, family members, and caregivers if desired.

Dr.  Ahmad Bakir Tarabishy clinical interests include uveitis and systemic inflammatory diseases, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and surgical treatments of various retinal diseases including complex diabetic and rhegmatogenous retinal detachments. He is passionate about retina surgery and employs the latest cutting-edge surgical techniques. Dr. Tarabishy speaks both English and Arabic.

Dr. Evan Dunn graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida. He subsequently completed medical school at the University of Miami, where he was awarded the Tod Gassen International Fellowship. His Transitional year and Ophthalmology residency were completed at Indiana University, where Dr. Dunn was Chief Resident of the Transitional Year program. Dr. Dunn was instructed by leaders in the field of retina, uveitis, glaucoma, oculoplastics, pediatrics, and neuro-ophthalmology during his residency. Dr. Dunn speaks both English and Spanish.

Dr. Schneider’s desire to manage difficult eye disease drew him to subspecialize in vitreoretinal disease and surgery. Attracted by the rigorous surgical training provided at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, he completed his 2-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship there, gaining extensive knowledge in the medical and surgical care of advanced retinal disease. During his last year in Dallas, he was the only retinal surgery attending physician at two of the busiest hospitals in the nation performing multiple retinal surgeries per week.
